User Agreement

1. Introduction and Acceptance

This User Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of Aster Consult, an AI-powered platform designed to streamline student-counselor communication. By creating an account or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

To use Aster Consult, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
• Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account and must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. Your Rights as a User

• Receive timely customer support and technical assistance

• Respect student privacy and confidentiality
• Avoid discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or nationality

System Usage

• Use the platform only for legitimate educational counseling purposes
• Avoid attempting to circumvent security measures or access restrictions
• Report bugs, vulnerabilities, or system issues promptly
• Respect bandwidth and storage limitations
• Keep your software and security tools up to date

5. AI-Assisted Communication Guidelines

When using our AI-powered features, you agree to:

• Always review AI-generated content before sending to students
• Take responsibility for all communications sent through the platform
• Customize AI responses to match your institution's tone and policies
• Intervene when AI responses seem inappropriate or inaccurate
• Maintain human oversight of critical decisions and recommendations
• Train your team on proper AI usage and limitations

6. Data Ownership and Usage Rights

You retain ownership of all data you input into Aster Consult. However, you grant us certain rights to:

• Process your data to provide the Service
• Use anonymized data to improve our AI models and platform features
• Generate insights and analytics from aggregated user data
• Backup and store your data for service continuity and disaster recovery

We will never sell your data to third parties or use it for purposes unrelated to providing and improving our Service.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

8. Service Availability and Updates

• We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes
• Emergency maintenance may occur without advance notice

9. Billing and Payment Obligations

If you subscribe to our paid services, you agree to:

• Pay all fees according to your selected billing cycle
• Provide accurate billing information and keep it updated
• Notify us of any billing discrepancies within 30 days
• Accept that fees are non-refundable except as specifically stated
• Understand that overdue accounts may result in service suspension

10. Intellectual Property Rights

11. Account Termination and Data Retention

Either party may terminate this Agreement with appropriate notice. Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will be discontinued
• You may export your data for up to 30 days after termination
• We will delete your data according to our retention policy
• Outstanding fees remain due and payable
• Confidentiality obligations survive termination

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, we encourage resolution through the following process:

2. Escalation to management if initial resolution is unsatisfactory
3. Mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator
4. Binding arbitration as a last resort, conducted according to applicable laws
